How is diving in and around Komodo?

Komodo National Park is a mandatory bullet on a diver bucket list – dive trip in Flores, in National Komodo Park, is a perfect destination for scuba divers and all nature lovers. Most of popular dive spots are in Central and North Komodo, which are known for huge population of Manta Rays and variety of sharks, beautiful drop-offs, underwaters pinnacles and shallow coral gardens. The area is well known for its strong currents that can be challenging but attract big and small fish dancing around and across them. In September and October when wind calms down we dive in South Komodo and Banta Islands where strong currents are common but worth watching manta rays in their playground, abundant of fish around, incredible rocks formations and untouched coral gardens.

Komodo region has all what divers dream of, and it`s a perfect to plan a short and longer dive trip as you are never bored with diversity of marine life. Even more, you discover many new species of crabs, shrimps, nudibranchs and flatworms. Trekking trips and watching wild life animals such famous lizards – Komodo dragons, deer, birds and butterflies will give you unforgettable memories from the sunniest island of Indonesia!

Our recommendations: you should have at least an Advanced Open Water certificate and previous experience with currents. Good breathing skills should be known too as most dives are +/- one hour long.
